Privacy policy

This notice explains how Recipe Me handles your data when you use the app, its AI features, iCloud sync, and Recipe Me Plus.

Data we process

• Your kitchen and taste data: stock, shopping lists and spending, recipes, cooking history, photos, equipment, preferences, allergies and dietary rules.
• Content you choose for AI features: text, prompts, recipe links, and food or receipt photos. The app processes camera images for recognition and sends requested AI content through the Recipe Me gateway.
• A pseudonymous identifier derived from Sign in with Apple, device and session identifiers, technical requests, and Apple transaction identifiers and credit records if you use Plus.
• Technical error and performance information. More detailed test diagnostics are collected only after separate opt-in and approval; they may contain portions of AI responses.

How we use it

We save your kitchen and recipes, sync them between your Apple devices when enabled, respond to requested AI tasks, protect the service from misuse, and verify Plus access and credit use. Confirmed allergies and dietary rules help filter recipe suggestions. Recipe Me does not use this data for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Legal grounds

We process data needed for the app and Plus features you request to perform our service agreement with you. Technical protection and abuse prevention rely on our legitimate interest in operating a secure service. Optional, more detailed test diagnostics rely on your separate consent; you can turn them off in the app. You decide whether to enter allergies or sensitivities. These can be health data and are used only for the recipe and safety features you request.

Where data is processed

Saved app content lives on your device. Optional sync uses your private Apple iCloud database. AI requests pass through a Recipe Me service hosted by Cloudflare. Depending on the feature, selected content is sent to Google (Gemini), DeepSeek, or OpenAI. Apple handles sign-in, iCloud, and App Store subscriptions under its own terms. Recipe Me does not receive payment card numbers.

These service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Contact us using the details above for information about recipients, processing locations, and the transfer mechanism used in a particular case.

Storage and deletion

Local and synced content remains until you delete it in the app or through your iCloud data controls. For supported content, Recently Deleted offers recovery for 30 days. Technical operational counters and approved test diagnostics are designed for 30-day retention. The Plus service retains transaction and ledger identifiers longer to verify access and prevent duplicate credit charges on retries; cached response copies for retries are removed after 30 days. External providers may apply their own retention periods.

Your choices

You can edit or delete content in the app, control iCloud sync in Apple settings, and manage Plus in your App Store account. For access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection to processing, contact kcc.wera.bc@gmail.com. You can withdraw consent for future processing at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Do not email passwords or complete receipt photos. Cancelling a subscription does not delete your saved kitchen; manual features remain available.

This page needs no sign-in and sets no first-party cookies or analytics trackers. Cloudflare processes connection and security data needed to deliver the page.
